ABOUT LINDSAY Staging Etc. Interiors Inc. is not just a small business, nor just another staging company. To me, it represents something greater than its stated name.
Staging Etc. was developed by two passionate people, who shared similar dreams and goals, and who came together at the most opportune time in their lives to transform their dreams into a reality.
The dreams I referred to were so vibrant and real that they were not able to remain dormant. I wanted to experience everything they had to offer, and my curiosity, optimism and faith was what kept me in pursuit. I am driven by my intuition and passion to see it through.
I have a Registered Nursing background of 5 years, specializing in Psychiatry (Vancouver General Hospital) and Perinatal Care (B.C. Women's Hospital). Though I loved what I did, it was simply not enough to satisfy my restless and creative appetite. It wasn't until 2005 that I had the courage to step out of my comfort zone to take a risk. I set out to redefine my own limits and have not thought of returning since.
I then found myself writing, sketching, painting, dancing, and in constant need to reorganize and redecorate my surroundings. I soon realized that it was the artistic expressive person within me trying to be released. Its release was embraced with intense gratification.
My life is an art in itself, and I am its creator. This realization was a crystallizing moment for me, and I will forever remember this turning point. I can honestly say that Staging Etc. is not a destination for me, but rather a path that was given for me to pave. I am very blessed for the opportunity to be a part of this partnership with Alice in the creation of our beloved company "Staging Etc. Interiors Inc."
ABOUT ALICE I didn't grow up in a pink room with rainbows and butterflies, or stuffed animals lining a four-poster bed with lace fringes. My bedroom wall was stark white with mismatched linens and other hand-me-down furniture that didn't have a better place in the house.
I believe it was in my teens that among all this un-inspiration that I derived much inspiration. The walls took on the role of a blank white canvas that came alive with endless stories from childhood books. I discovered how different colors, textures, and shapes made me feel.
Not knowing at that time what to do with my creativity, the realities of an education and career drew me in other directions. I graduated with a B.A. from UC Berkeley, and for the next 10 years I would gain invaluable experience in Project Management at Charles Schwab, Yahoo and Electronic Arts. It was during this time of building knowledge and experience where I discovered that passion is what drives a successful career and life, eventually realizing that it was now time to live my passion.
I am fortunate to realize a career in decorating and design that fulfills everything I've ever wanted in a career. My business partner, Lindsay, and I share the same vision and passion, and everything we've accomplished prior has prepared us for this endeavor. Now we are living our dream job with Staging Etc Interiors.
