Real Estate Staging FAQ

1. What can real estate staging offer me?
Vancouver realtors are seeing the difference home staging for real estate can make in home sales and sellers are pleased with the results of selling faster for top dollar. Real estate home staging can be achieved through different levels of staging services offered to home owners to achieve their goals in selling their home. Every property is unique with different needs, and a professional real estate home stager can help identify those needs. Staging Etc interiors offers a free consultation to help you get started.

2. What are the different real estate staging services offered?
Staging Etc offers a number of interior staging services. If the property is partially furnished, we can help organize and prioritize the process of preparing your home for sale based on budget and deadline. We'll give you a detailed list of recommendations for either Staging Etc to take on some preparation tasks, or for you to do the ground work yourself. Once the ground work is completed, we can rearrange or add furniture, mount wall art, and add accessories to complete the look and achieve the 'wow' factor!

If the property is empty, we offer a turn-key real estate staging solution. We offer Complete Staging or Partial Staging options, depending on the needs of your property. We will select items from our large inventory of furniture, art, and accessories needed to give your property a finished look. In addition, we will also organize and manage the whole project for you from start to finish getting it show ready!

3. Does real estate staging really make a big difference?
Buyers typically respond well to a staged or a tastefully decorated property rather than a vacant or cluttered home. This is because most buyers can't see the potential of a space, and need an initial positive impact created for them right from the moment they enter a home. All buyers enter a property looking for reasons to like or not to like that property, so it's important to decrease any potential negative reactions, and give more reasons for buyers to take interest in your home. If a buyer doesn't like what they see in the first viewing of your home, it's very unlikely that they will take a second look.

4. Is it too late to stage my home if it's already on the market?
It's not too late and Staging Etc can stage a home for real estate purposes in 2-3 days to get it ready for your next showing. Ideally, homes should be staged before being put onto the market to get that first impression impact. It is important to note that the longer a home takes to sell, the more costs home owners will incur over time. The cost of marketing the property, mortgage interests and payments, strata and maintenance fees, insurance and taxes, will all add up. In addition, the longer a property sits on the market, the likelihood increases for a potential buyer asking for a further price reduction. Price reductions normally start at $10,000, so why wouldn't you consider staging if the costs to stage your home equates to only a fraction of a price reduction? It's never too late to get your property in top shape for sale.

5. I already have furniture, so why would I spend more money to get a real estate stager in when I can do it myself?
There is much more to real estate home staging than just de-cluttering and moving around a few furniture pieces by yourself. Staging Etc first considers your existing furniture pieces that can work with the design to stretch your staging dollars, and then selects items that will need to be brought in to create the full effect. Professional home stagers will bring a fresh critical eye to the property and spot issues that could make or break the sale of your home.

6. What is the difference between home decorating and home staging?
Home decorating is personalizing your space tailored to the specific home owner, whereas home staging de-personalizes a space for mass market appeal with the objective of selling your home. When showing a home for sale, it needs to show off its fullest potential to a wide-range of buyers. We identify areas for clearing the clutter and personal items so that potential buyers can visualize themselves living in the home.

Staging Etc provides both a turn-key solution for real estate staging and decorating. Please contact us for more information at 604-267-0083 or info@stagingetc.com.
